philosophy of life (此文已搬到新家)

yesterday i surfed on tw yahoo at around 7pm something and read about the news saying that Xu Weilun was badly injured due to a car accident. i was thinking maybe she would wake up from unconsciousness. and three hours later, i found that she has passed away... my god, that is unbelievable!! ony 28!! life is short. some may live for more than 80 or 90 years, but it is always short. you would always have no enough time to finish what you want to do... and life is unpredictable and uncontrollable. it is a universal truth... although i always tell myself "tomorrow is another day", it can be understood positively and negatively. positively, tomorrow would be another day which is better than today; negatively, tomorrow can be another miserable day, another day close to death... so everyday we are getting closer and closer to death. my moral education lecturer said every birth is a suffer. well, i believe that everyone comes to this world with a mission-- to learn something, and after you complete your mission, you leave. so i use this belief to explain why there are deaths and births. during the music class one of my classmates presented his own creation... it was a song dedicated in loving memory to his mom. he said his mom passed away on jan 1st, 2007-- quite shocked... the lyric is quite sad... oh mom i miss you i miss you so why can't you stay for another day very touching... i nearly cried... i can't imagine how sad he was, and how strong he was, to present this song in front of us, and explain how his mom suffered before her death, and how he felt toward her pain and helplessness. so Xu Weilun had learned something important, hence she left. though it was sudden. and so his mom completed the mission, therefore she is gone. though it is so sad. i wonder what my mission would be, and whether i am doing it now, or i still have a long way to go. but i am pretty sure my mission is to gain something, to learn something. friends, always be prepared, and there is no regret

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar (might have been a pickle jar) and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2 in diameter. He asked the students if the jar was full? They agreed that it was. So then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the student again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The students laughed. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else, said the professor, I want you to recognize that this is your life. The rocks are the important things -- your family, your partner, your health, your children -- anything that is so important to you that if it were lost, you would be nearly destroyed. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else. The small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and time on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal. Take care of the rocks first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

逝者死矣,活着的人在缅怀和追忆的同时的确应该看到生命的意义。

这确实是人生哲学。

可惜一条28岁的生命。
